ABOUT MESam Aghassi is a 2D Animator based in New York and a recent graduate of School of Visual Arts with a BFA in 2D Animation. She specializes in clean up animation, where her attention to detail shines through. She loves working with different styles and learning about what makes them different.Sam's artistic journey started early on in life, whereas the pursuit of animation only came while in high school. After watching fellow animators stream their processes, she found her passion.When not animating, Sam enjoys walks around the city and listening to video game soundtracks. An injured magic fox takes refuge on a farm and befriends the farmer that takes it in. When the danger it ran from follows, it must protect it's new friend.My main purpose for creating Wild Cabbage was to work on some new skills. It was opportunity for me to try animal movement and fx animation, which I hadn't done previously. It was definitely a challenge to animate so many legs on one being, let alone four, but I think I made it work well!School of Visual Arts Thesis Film

A short story about unlikely friends. Emmet spends the day with his secret zombie friend, but when it's time to return home, he wants to bring her with him.I originally designed Brianna for a different class, but I loved the idea of her so much that I just had to reuse her. Her biggest change is her hair. On a trip to Germany, I happened to see something interesting- a wooden hut. I'm not sure of its intended use, but it looked like the perfect alternative for a tree house, so I tried to recreate it!University of the Arts Third Year Film

UArts Summer Anijam (2025)

ABOUT
23 volunteer animators work together to create an Amusement Park themed music video to lianhua's song CITRUS!.I continue to run the University of the Arts' Animation Club as its President, and decided to host a fun anijam this past summer for the members. It was a great opportunity for me to set schedules and learn how to be a director of my own volition. It was truly incredible leading this group of talented animators in such a large project, especially as it turned out so great.

Holly vs Pix is a UArts History of Games Final made in partnership with Sarah Gleixner. I was in charge of clean up animation and background art.Sarah and I were given the opportunity to make a game-related project in place of an exam, so we thought animating our Pokemon Original Characters would be fun. Definitely one of my most favorite class finals!

Invader ZIM x Stranger Things

ABOUT
Invader ZIM x Stranger Things is my part of a UArts Episodic Animation Final in 2023.A clip from Stranger Things was split amongst the entire class and we each chose an existing shows style to replicate. Invader ZIM is one of my favorite shows, so I wanted to give it a go. I got to research the show's style guide and mouth charts in my The Art of Invader ZIM art book, and I think it turned out quite well.
